Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Expats Career Consulting, operated by Akerke Makhanova (“we”, “us”, “our”), to clients (“you”, “your”).

2. Services

Expats Career Consulting provides career coaching and related support services, including but not limited to:

  • Group coaching

  • Individual coaching

  • Premium package

  • CV optimization

  • LinkedIn optimization

  • Job search strategy sessions

  • Interview preparation

  • ZZP / freelancing guidance

  • Other career-related consulting services as agreed in writing

Service descriptions on the website are intended to provide a general overview. The exact scope of support may vary depending on the selected package and the client’s individual needs.

3. Booking and Agreement

A service agreement is formed when:

  • you book and pay for a service through the website, or

  • we confirm your booking or package in writing by email, invoice, or another written format

By booking a service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

4. Prices and Payment

All prices listed on the website are in EUR and [include/exclude] VAT, unless stated otherwise.

Payment must be made in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

A booking is only confirmed once payment has been received, unless a different arrangement has been agreed.

We reserve the right to postpone or decline the delivery of services until full payment has been received.

5. Delivery of Services

Services are delivered online or in another agreed format.

Session duration, package structure, and deliverables are described on the website or agreed in writing before the start of the service.

We aim to provide our services with reasonable care, professionalism, and attention. However, coaching and career support are advisory services, and outcomes may vary from client to client.

6. Client Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate and complete information relevant to the service

  • attending sessions on time

  • actively participating in the coaching process

  • reviewing and applying the advice, materials, and recommendations provided

You understand that career coaching is a collaborative process and that results depend on many factors, including your own efforts, background, visa status, market conditions, and employer decisions.

7. No Guarantee of Results

We do not guarantee:

  • job offers

  • interviews

  • visa sponsorship

  • freelance assignments

  • salary outcomes

  • any specific professional result

Our role is to support, guide, and strengthen your positioning, documents, strategy, and decision-making. Final hiring or business decisions are always made by employers, recruiters, clients, or other third parties.

8. Rescheduling, Cancellation, No-Show, and Late Attendance

If you need to reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Rescheduling requests made more than 24 hours in advance may be moved once, subject to availability.

  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the session may be charged in full.

  • If a client does not join a scheduled video session within 20 minutes of the agreed start time, or does not attend the session without prior notice, the session will be considered provided and completed.

  • In such cases, the session is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled, unless the client informed Expats Career Consulting at least 24 hours in advance and provided the reason for cancellation.

  • Missed sessions and no-shows are non-refundable.
     

9. Rescheduling, Postponement, or Changes by Us

We reserve the right to reschedule, postpone, or change the date and time of a session based on coach availability, illness, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances.

If this happens, the client will be informed as soon as reasonably possible, and an alternative session will be offered.

If no suitable alternative can be arranged, the client will be entitled to a refund for the affected session or unused part of the service.
 

10. Premium Package Validity

All 5 career pillars are included in the Premium Package.

If a client is interested in booking only one service separately, this may be arranged upon request.

Premium Package sessions must be scheduled and used within 1 month from the date of payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

If the client does not schedule or use the session(s) within this period, the unused session(s) will expire and will not be refunded.

11. Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer booking online from the EU, you may have the legal right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days from the date of booking, without giving any reason.

However, if you request that the service begins within this 14-day period, and you explicitly agree to this in advance, you acknowledge that:

  • the service may start before the withdrawal period has ended

  • if the service is fully performed within that period, your right of withdrawal may no longer apply

If you withdraw after the service has already started at your request, we may charge a proportional amount for the part of the service already delivered, in line with applicable law.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, contact us at [your email address] with a clear written statement before the 14-day period ends.

12. Refund Policy

Unless required by law, completed sessions and delivered services are non-refundable.

Refunds are not provided for:

  • completed coaching sessions

  • missed sessions

  • no-shows

  • late cancellations

  • expired Premium Package sessions

  • dissatisfaction based solely on subjective expectations where the service was delivered as agreed

If a package includes multiple sessions or deliverables, refunds for unused parts may be considered only where legally required or expressly agreed in writing.
 

13. Communication

We aim to respond to client emails and messages within a reasonable timeframe, usually within [2 business days].

Support outside scheduled sessions is limited to the scope of the selected package or as otherwise agreed.
 

14. Confidentiality

We treat personal and professional information shared during coaching as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties, unless:

  • you have given consent

  • disclosure is necessary for service delivery through trusted providers

  • we are required to do so by law

Please also refer to our Privacy Policy for more information about how personal data is processed.
 

15. Intellectual Property

All materials, templates, methods, guidance documents, written feedback, and other content provided by Expats Career Consulting remain our intellectual property, unless stated otherwise.

They may be used by you for personal use only and may not be copied, distributed, published, sold, or shared commercially without prior written permission.
 

16. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Expats Career Consulting is not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential damages

  • loss of income, opportunity, business, or employment prospects

  • decisions made by employers, recruiters, clients, immigration authorities, or other third parties

  • outcomes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client

Our total liability for any direct claim related to a service is limited to the amount paid by the client for that specific service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted under applicable law.
 

17. Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and up to date. However, we do not guarantee that all website content is always complete, current, or error-free.

We reserve the right to update services, prices, package details, and website content at any time.
 

18. Applicable Law and Disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

Any disputes will first be addressed in good faith to seek an amicable solution. If no solution is reached, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
